What is the new BloomBoard?

The new BloomBoard is a place for educators to build the skills and competencies they need to take their teaching to the next level. The site provides educators with access to high-quality collections of learning resources and the ability to earn micro-credentials, a digital form of certification proving someone has demonstrated competency in a specific skill set.

 

What is the difference between the new BloomBoard and the Marketplace?

The Marketplace allows your organization to access individual resources to support teaching practice. With the new BloomBoard, resources have been curated by experienced educators and organized into collections around specific topics of interest. Each collection contains a balanced mix of resources focused on theory, exemplars, and practice, to provide your educators with a complete understanding of the topic. The site also offers collaboration features and the ability for educators to earn micro-credentials to showcase the skills they’ve learned throughout their careers.

How does this change affect our current BloomBoard account?

This update has no effect on your organization’s observation accounts and login credentials: it will only affect your access to the Marketplace. Educators can create free accounts at next.bloomboard.com to access the new BloomBoard in place of the Marketplace.

 

What will happen to our Marketplace subscription?

Marketplace accounts for all users will be closed. Your organization will receive an equivalent license for the new BloomBoard site matching the subscription level you had in the Marketplace, plus a number of new features. We will send an email inviting you and members of your organization to create an account and link it to your organization’s new BloomBoard account. If you have any questions on this process please contact your BloomBoard representative.

 

Will my organization still have access to the content acquired in the Marketplace?

We will work with your organization to ensure that you maintain uninterrupted access to this content through the duration of your subscription period. Please check with your primary BloomBoard contact to confirm the subscription’s current expiration date.

After June 30, you can access the content you acquired by creating an account at next.bloomboard.com.

 

What will happen to unused Marketplace credits?

Credits will no longer be applicable after June 30, 2016. Your organization’s access to collections, micro-credentials, and other BloomBoard hosted content will be determined by the level of subscription your organization chooses to purchase going forward. Please reach out to your organization’s BloomBoard administrator to learn more about what your organization has purchased in the new BloomBoard.

How can I access saved and purchased content?

After June 30th, users will no longer have access to their personal Marketplace libraries. Resources that were purchased, selected, saved for later or shared in the Marketplace will only be accessible through accounts on the new BloomBoard site. For questions or assistance in accessing a particular resource, please contact BloomBoard Support.

 

What will happen to my credit card information?

Consistent with our Security Policy (https://apps.bloomboard.com/sp.html), we will dispose of your credit card data in a secure manner to ensure that it cannot be recovered for unauthorized use.

 

How do I access Observation Engine?

Users will access Observation Engine (an Empirical Education calibration tool) via their exclusive content. For questions or assistance in accessing a particular resource, please contact BloomBoard Support.

 

Will there be any changes to my organization's Marketplace data and reporting?

  • FTP
    If your organization utilizes our FTP data export, you will no longer see Marketplace data included in your nightly update after June 30, 2016.
  • Resource Consumption Report
    The Resource Consumption Report will be discontinued after June 30, 2016. Information on reporting options for the new BloomBoard site will be available soon –– stay tuned!

 

Will there be any changes to my organization’s Observation data and reporting?

Your observation data and reporting will remain the same. Only your Marketplace account is affected. You can continue to login to the observation tool with the same login credentials.
