Observers may use quickfire to record observation evidence.

Quickfire timestamps observers’ entries as they make them and facilitates quick, on-the-fly, tagging.

00:18 But, this is important - learners cannot tag the quickfire evidence that observers collect – learners can only tag observer notes made in the Scripting pane.

By default, quickfire entries are not shared.

In this video, we look at how observers share their quickfire evidence with learners and where learners can view quickfire entries.

00:44 If you want to automatically share your quickfire evidence as you create it, turn on evidence sharing as soon as you open the observation step.

Note the button and explanatory language change to indicate you are in the sharing state.

New evidence is now shared as you enter and tag it.

01:05 Once you toggle sharing to the on state, it remains on until you toggle it off.

When you turn evidence sharing off or on, you affect only the evidence you collect from that point forward – clicking share or don’t share does not retroactively impact previous entries.

01:22 Something to note - learners cannot see the quickfire screen.

Learners can only view shared quickfire evidence in the Collected Evidence screen.

In Collected Evidence, observers and learners can view all of the evidence they’ve personally collected and all of the evidence that has been shared with them.

The Collected Evidence feature also allows observers to selectively change the shared status of quickfire and other evidence they’ve collected.

01:56 If you want to change the status of an individual piece of evidence, click the individual check box to share or unshare it.

You can also click the All or None links to share or unshare all of your collected evidence.

So, if you want to check or fine tune the evidence you’ve shared, you can use this feature to review the evidence you’ve collected and make adjustments to sharing, if needed.

This concludes our overview of sharing quickfire evidence in observation activities.
