SLO Statuses (Student Learning Objectives)

The easiest place to learn an SLO's status is in the meeting overview on the observer dashboard and in the Activities tab of the learner's E-Portfolio. If you want to know where the SLO is in its cycle, check its activity status in the overview.

 

 

Blank

A blank status indicates SLOs are unlocked for the learner to edit.  

Observer: There are no observer buttons or actions in this state.

Learner: Can edit SLO. When ready, learner clicks the Set objectives & request approval button at the bottom of the SLO.

Awaiting approval by__

An Awaiting approval by status indicates the learner has submitted the SLO(s) for approval.

Observer: The observer's view displays two options.

  • Click the Enable editing for learner button to unlock the SLOs for editing by learner.
  • Click the Approve SLO button to approve the submitted SLO and move to the ratings step.

Learner: There are no learner buttons or actions in this state. Learners who need to edit their SLO must ask the observer to unlock and enable editing.

Approved by__

The Approved by__ status displays when the observer has approved the SLO(s), but has not rated yet.

Observer: The observer has two options.

  • Rate the SLO(s) by choosing a rating box and then clicking Submit final ratings.
  • Click Enable editing for learner to unlock the SLOs for editing by the learner.

Learner: There are no learner buttons or actions in this state. Learners who need to edit their SLO must ask the observer to unlock it and enable editing.

Ratings submitted by__

Ratings submitted by__ displays after the observer submits final ratings.

 

Observer: The only option available to the observer on the SLO form is Edit final ratings, which allows the observer to edit their ratings and also restores the Enable editing for learner button. 

Learner: There are no learner buttons or actions in this state. Learners who need to edit their SLO must ask the observer to unlock it and enable editing.
